I was born a city boy;
I wonder if i always will be.
While i'm surrounded by so many city boys and girls;
I differ just a little.
Still I'm such a city boy;
I went to city school.
Now I pay by city tax (& on time too);
For what, I don 't ask.
My day to day role, as a city boy involves
Watching, wanting, driving, parking,
Queuing, buying, using up-throwing out.
I wear jeans with prefabricated holes
To make it seem as if i don't do as I'm told
(While in fact I do).
I have no T.E.K. Traditional Ecological Knowledge;
But I 'm told that's O.K. everything I need to know I learned in college.
I get my calcium from ice cream;
My vitamin C from Sunny D;
My polycarbonate from popcorn I microwave;
My M.S.G. from flavouring.
I got laptop burn marks on my laps.
& I play console to console my lack of the physical.
Well, I was starting to think, that this whole city thing;
Wasn't for me wasn't meant to be, wasn't for beings of any species.
I was starting to think, that this whole city thing;
Lacked in depth, there must be something else, it just isn't enough, it just isn't enough.
So I brought my city skills, to wild forests and hills
And put all of my city eggs, in the one basket I had.
Well, Nikes wear down quicker than you think,
Tents blow away in a moderate wind,
Matches get wet while my mouth stays dry,
G.P.S.'s break down well so do I.
I miss shampoo and all the things it do.
I miss youtube and all the things I viewed.
I'm a creature of habits, not so much of my habitat;
No I'm not like other creatures, crawlers and ravagers.
You get what you give, what you put in you take out
Well I'm such a city boy I've never given to nature.

The title is an attention-getter to be sure, but this collection of trippy psych-pop more than earns it with its wavy, acid-laced melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 17, 2021
